1B1 visited Germany last week and took part in a spectacular Label Night in Berlin, in addition to concerts in Dresden and Leipzig.

The concert in Dresden was part of a cultural manifestation against right wing extremism, and the event was widely reported in German media. A MDR TV report reaching a potential 25 million viewers can be seen here.

The visit to Germany was the 1B1 ensemble’s first international foray after receiving the substantial Talent Norge (Talent Norway) grant, and proved to be an important step in building 1B1’s reputation and network in Germany and beyond. Also, the New York Times mentioned 1B1 in its recent report about National Sawdust, a new concert hall to open in Williamsburg in October. Read the New York Times article here.
